Basket Inserts for Kitchen Cabinets

Lindsay ~ 14 May 2007

If you’re remodeling the kitchen, there are all sorts of fun storage ideas you can implement. Plate racks, slide-out spice cabinets, hidden garbage and recycling bins, or perhaps appliance garages that hide mixers, coffee grinders, etc. These basket inserts are kind of fun, especially if your family eats a lot of potatoes, onions, fruit, or other items that are best stored at room temperature but that you don’t necessarily want sitting out on the counter.

The baskets shown here are made from wicker and come with everything necessary to install them. Prices for this model (do baskets come in “models”?) start around $75. You can also get smaller baskets, if you like the idea of stacking them four high beneath the counter.
