Decorative Bamboo Door Screens Keep out Bugs
Lindsay ~ 21 April 2007
Around here, screen doors are the typical way to keep bugs out of the house while letting air inside, but most of them aren’t very attractive, are they? Down in the tropics, bamboo door screens are used to thwart intruding insects. They let in the breeze, provide shade, and provide privacy at the same time. Oh, and they can look a lot more interesting, too, especially if you enjoy a tropical theme.
The screen shown here is available from Garden Winds. It’s decorated with a bright and cheerful parrot, though you can also get screens painted with bamboo trees or other images. If you aren’t ready to get rid of your screen door, you can also hang these on the wall or perhaps use them as room dividers. Prices run around $60.
