Crestings Add Style to the Roof
Thanks to television shows like HGTV’s Curb Appeal, gussying up the exteriors of houses, especially what’s visible from the street, is more popular than ever. Some of the obvious improvements you can make are professional landscaping and new siding, but not everybody thinks about the roof as a potential place for decorative elements.
Roof crestings, however, have a long tradition. These decorative iron fences are usually installed along the ridge, or the highest point, of a roof. They are attached with angle brackets and can be bent to match the pitch of your roof. The Catalina cresting shown here is from Capital Crestings and has tabs at the ends, so sections can be interlocked. The sections are 33″ tall by 8″ wide, each costing $81.25.
