Playhouse with Built-in Bookcases

Lindsay ~ 25 March 2007

If you’re trying to get your children into reading, a little playhouse with built in bookcases might be a winning idea. Since kids are always constructing forts and trying to make child-sized nooks where they feel comfortable, something like this might help save tables, chairs, blankets and other portable household items from being purloined for building materials.

The play hut features a tent-like canopy with curtains in the front and back, so the kids can hide away with a book where nobody will find them (although mom offerings of milk and cookies stuck through the curtain are unlikely to be rejected).

Made from birch plywood and cloth, the indoor playhouse with book shelves is $419 from Everything Furniture.
