Gas Watch Keeps Your Grill from Running out of Propane

Lindsay ~ 4 March 2007

It’s a sunny afternoon, you’ve got friends and family over, you’re grilling a wonderful meal, and it happens: the barbeque runs out of propane. You’re forced to run to the store for another tank, all the while knowing your steaks aren’t going to be very tasty cooked in two stages.

It’s to prevent situations like this that the Gas Watch was invented. The device is a propane gas leak detector, which features a low-level gas indicator that lets you know when it’s time to refill the tank. There’s no need to buy a new grill to install it; the Gas Watch comes with a brass retrofit adapter that connects between your existing tank and regulator. The gadget also has an emergency shut-off switch you can use in case of leaks.

It’s available for about $20 from Smarthome:
