Borneo Ironwood Hardwood Floors, a Touch of the Exotic

Lindsay ~ 16 March 2007

Just about any hardwood floor can look good, but some are going to match the room better than others, and of course there is the matter of personal preference to consider. If you’ve browsed all the traditional hardwoods (i.e. oak, maple, etc.) and none are striking your fancy, perhaps a more exotic species is in order. Often rich in color (and quite durable), exotic hardwoods are becoming more and more popular.

The one shown here is a Borneo Ironwood from Black River Floors. The rich dark brown wood comes in solid planks with prices starting at just over $4.50 per square foot (this, of course, doesn’t include installation).
