Airplane Ceiling Fans Make Fun Choice for Children’s Rooms

Lindsay ~ 14 February 2007

There are lots of ways to decorate a children’s room–you can paint murals on the walls, add kid-friendly furniture, and buy themed bedding–but many people overlook a less obvious place to add decorations: the ceiling. I’m not talking about adding dangling mobiles but about changing out the fixtures themselves.

If the room has an old out-dated ceiling fan (or none at all), you could install one that is appropriate for young tastes, something that matches your child’s interests. For example, if you’ve got a kid who digs airplanes, this Craftmade Glen Warbird ceiling fan from Littman Bros. could be a fun choice (and it might also be a nice upgrade for the home office or study of a husband who never gave up his passion for model airplanes).

If you’re looking for a non-airplane-themed upgrade (hey, airplanes aren’t for everybody), Littman Bros. has lighting and ceiling fans from many of the major companies, such as Monte Carlo, Minke Aire, Fanimation, Emerson, and Hunter. You can find something modern to replace the fixtures that came with your house or perhaps a retro piece to go with your antiques. There are lots of fans on the site, so you can browse for ideas. The company also offers ceiling medallions, crown moulding, and other materials for adding interest to your ceiling.
