Custom Parquet Floors
18 January 2007
Parquet is a popular style of hardwood flooring that employs wood blocks instead of boards. There are some basic designs that you see over and over, but you can get a custom design as intricate as you’d like, something that is made to precisely fit your home.
Shown here is a Dian style from Premium Floors. It’s based on the work of the French designer, Andre Charles Boulle, who worked in the late 1600s to develop what came to be called the Buhl style of furniture inlay. The Dian blocks are 12″ x 12″ and feature maple, white oak, and Santos mahogany.
