Tilia Food Saver Matches Your Stainless Steel Appliances
If you’re always throwing away spoiled food, a food saver might be a good investment. You’ve probably seen those infomercials for these products; they suck all the air out of a bag and vacuum seal the food inside, so everything stays fresh for longer. They say you can toss the bags in the freezer to preserve the food for months or even years. Most of the food savers I’ve seen (including the one from that TV commercial) are pretty ugly; they aren’t exactly something you’d want to keep out on the counter to show off to guests. The sleek, stainless steel Tilia food saver is another story.
The home vacuum-packaging system can seal foods at two vacuum speeds and shuts down automatically when it’s done. It’s handsome enough to leave it sitting out on the counter, but a flip-up design lets you save space. The unit comes with a stainless-steel lid and a dishwasher-safe antibacterial drip tray. The Tilia retails for $179, and the reviews over at Amazon are positive, so it looks like it would be a pretty good addition to the kitchen.
