DIY Stained Glass Backsplash

Lindsay ~ 4 November 2006

Though ceramic tile backsplashes are popular in the kitchen, the next time you remodel, you might like to do something a little more eye-catching. Stained glass tiles, perhaps. Though something like that sounds like it would entail a lot of effort, you can actually buy glass tiles that are already mounted on mesh backings that make them relatively easy for the average do-it-yourself type to install. Instead of having to lay each tile individually, you simply mount the 11″ x 11″ sheet on the wall then grout between the squares. Of course, the tiles must be laid over a suitable substrate to insure proper installation, but this is still easier than affixing each tile individually.
