Glass inserts or framed glass cabinet doors in the kitchen are surprisingly popular (you couldn’t get me to install something that added places for fingerprints to collect), and there are all sorts of design options if you want to go that route. Sure, you could do a solid pane of clear glass, but unless you have really good looking plates and glasses (and you keep them neatly organized), you might not want your dinnerware to be the focal point.
