Decorative Glass Inserts for Kitchen Cabinet Doors

Lindsay ~ 15 November 2006

Glass inserts or framed glass cabinet doors in the kitchen are surprisingly popular (you couldn’t get me to install something that added places for fingerprints to collect), and there are all sorts of design options if you want to go that route. Sure, you could do a solid pane of clear glass, but unless you have really good looking plates and glasses (and you keep them neatly organized), you might not want your dinnerware to be the focal point. The designs that Kraftmaid offers draw some of the attention away from what’s stored in the cabinets and draw the eye to the door itself.

The glass insert pictured here is the Camellia, which works with the company’s Mullion line of cabinets. It’s available in all species of wood, so you might even be able to match it to your existing cabinets, if you’re just looking to achieve a modern update to the kitchen without spending a fortune installing all new units.
