Add Garage Storage Cheaply with Recycled Cabinets
If you’re like me, you have a lot of stuff you’ve accumulated over the years, and the number 1 storage zone in the house is the garage. Some people have so many items in the garage they have to park their cars outside. One way to help open up a garage cramped with the family’s belongings is to add cabinetry to give you some place to put things. One perk of cabinets is that unlike shelves there are doors to hide all your clutter, er, precious family items, from sight.
Installing a bank of new garage cabinets can be an expensive home improvement, easily running in the thousands of dollars. However you can install equally functional recycled kitchen cabinets at a fraction of the cost.
Get the old cabinets from a friend or family member who is remodeling, or try your local re-use center. You may also be able to find someone via online classifieds such as Craigslist. Often times people will give their used cabinets away to whomever will haul them from the curb. This is an inexpensive way to add garage storage space.
