Portable Washing Machine
Lindsay ~ 1 October 2006
Okay, here’s one for all you apartment dwellers who are tired of walking up and down stairs in order to use the communal washers and dryers: you can get a portable washing machine that will work in your apartment or condo, even if there’s not a traditional washer hook-up. This is also an option for people who do a lot of boating or traveling by RV. The Kenmore 2.1 cubic foot compact portable top load clothes washer seen here hooks up to your sink (hardware included). The washer has two water levels and three temperature settings, so you ought to be able to do just about anything a regular washing machine can handle. The portable washer will run you about $500. Now, don’t you have a load of laundry to be doing right now?

Oooh, thanks for the link to this. A portable washing machine is exactly what I’ve been looking for for some time, but my husband said there’s no such thing. Now I can point at it and say here it is honey. Buy it for me

Has anyone actually got a portable washer?Does it really get your clothes clean? Is there enough power? Aren’t regular washing machines hooked up to 220 outlets because they need that much power? Or is that the dryers I’m thinking of?

We have a portable washing machine in our RV. It’s fine power wise, just not as big as a typical machine. It works great for rvs and traveling though. Also you could install it in a house without a hook up for a washer and dryer.
