CVO Firebreak, Not Your Typical Fireplace
Most gas fireplaces are designed to install into the firebox of your existing wood-burning fireplace. As such they tend to be all the same size and shape. Now, if you’re willing to do something a little more extreme, such as building a wall around a fireplace (or cutting into an existing wall), you could get something like the long and sleek CVO Firebreak. Aside from the unique shape, it doesn’t have any of those faux logs burning in the base, so it almost looks like you’ve got a window looking into some mysterious fire living in the wall. The LPG- or NG-burning unit comes in numerous finishes (i.e. stainless steel, black granite, limestone, and bronze), so you can find something just right to match your décor (or I could, anyway–I’d take just about any model if I could get someone to install it for me for free…). And, of course, there’s a remote control, so you can flick the flames off and on without getting up off the couch. Fireplaces don’t get any easier than that.
