They Look Like Slate Tiles, But They’re Really Porcelain
Lindsay ~ 8 September 2006
Slate tiles can give a clean, masculine feel to a bathroom, and these dark “Inox Slate” tiles are no exception. Despite the name, however, they’re not made of slate. Part of the Metal Line over at Iris Ceramica, these glazed porcelain tiles are fired at 1300°C (2400 F), and with a water absorption rate of 0.04%, they are suitable for use on bathroom floors and walls. The company says their tiles can be cleaned with normal detergents, and they’re more resistant to acids than metal itself. They don’t rust, and they’re guaranteed to remain the same over time. For an easy, maintenance-free bathroom, these tiles sound like a promising bet.
