No More Boring Light Switchplates–Try a Safari Theme

Lindsay ~ 6 September 2006

For reasons I can’t explain, I’m a sucker for decorative light switchplates. Maybe it’s because nobody I know has any. We all have boring standard white or off-white–you know, the ones that get all goobered up with smudges and children’s fingerprints. Well, these safari-inspired switchplates would certainly do a good job of hiding smudges. The dirt would blend right in with those spotted giraffes, so that makes one less place you have to clean, ha! As far as decorations go, these could be a lot of fun in a jungle-themed children’s room (or adult bedroom for that matter). The switchplates are available from Touch of Class for $15.

I am a huge fan of decorative switchplates too. I redecorated my living room and dining room in January 2007. I was going for a artdeco, frank lloyd wright theme and I found the perfect switchplates. They are called Craftsmen switchplates and they are made by Kyle Design at http://www.kyledesigns.com/product/SP28_CRAFTSMAN
. They are available in many different finishes such as satin stainless steel, antique brass, and Polished chrome. I loved these plates because I was able to customize the finish to incorporate all of the colors in my living room.
