Gravity Pepper Mill, a Useful Kitchen Gadget
27 September 2006
There are plenty of kitchen gadgets that are novel but really just end up cluttering up your drawers. This gravity pepper mill is something you might use every day, though, assuming you like the taste of fresh ground pepper. With traditional pepper grinders, you need both hands free to use it: one to hold and one to twist (and if your hands are damp from food preparation, it can be hard to get a good grip). This one makes things easier. You simply grab the pepper mill with one hand, turn it upside down, and the mill senses that it’s time to grind. The blades whir, and perfectly ground pepper comes out. You can buy the gadget for about $25 online:

We ordered one of these gravity pepper grinders for the kitchen and it’s really a fun gadget (I mean as fun as pouring pepper can be). I’ve caught the kids playing with it more than once. Just figured I’d say it was a handy product and I may even get one for a girl friend for Christmas. She always has a phone in her hand so a one-handed pepper grinder would probably be a good idea.
