Next Generation Foldable TV Tray

Lindsay ~ 20 August 2006

If your family is anything like the typical American family these days, you may be eating more of your meals in front of the television than at the table. What’s the point in a sit-down meal, anyway, when nobody seems to be home to eat at the same time any more? Well, today’s TV trays are a little better than the ones I remember from when I was growing up. (The ones where you had to perch on the absolute edge of the couch or chair in order to reach your plate of food, and then you banged your knees on the legs of the table…) The Table Mate 2 is a foldable tray that actually extends out from the legs, so there’s room for your knees. According to the company, it can support 50 pounds of weight, so you can either eat a whole lot, or use it as a workstation and pile on your laptop, books, notebook, etc. It’s also height adjustable, with six different levels, so you can fit it to your size.

The TV tray is available online for $24.95: Table Mate
