Glass Interior Doors for Between Rooms

Lindsay ~ 7 May 2006

It’s always nice to be able to shut a door in the house and block out noise, whether it be to your den, TV room, or bedroom. But shutting a door blocks light, too, and can make the room feel claustrophobic. One way around this is to use doors with glass panels instead of solid wood. You might not want to do this on your bathroom or bedroom door (although you can get etched or stained glass, so people can’t see in but light still comes through), but for other rooms it might be a good way to open up the flow of your home. The “Crystal Star” door here is from Signamark, a company that specializes in interior doors that range from elegant to whimsical. This one comes in pine or red oak with sizes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 feet wide. The safety tempered glass is sturdy enough to stand up to a slammed door or something falling against it.
