I admit a salad spinner is more of a kitchen gadget than a home improvement item, but hey, sometimes you’ve got to write about the little things. For those of you kitchen neophytes who don’t know quite what a salad spinner does, it’s a utensil that uses centrifugal force to dry freshly washed lettuce, herbs, etc. The damp ingredients are placed into an inner basket, which is then set in an outer container fitted with a lid. You turn the handle on the lid and the ingredients spin (hence the name) and dry for serving.
