Kohler Laminar Ceiling-mounted Bathtub Filler

Lindsay ~ 15 April 2006

Why on earth you’d need your bathtub to fill from a faucet in the ceiling, I can’t imagine. That said, it does look kind of cool. The Kohler Laminar Spout comes in wall/mirror-mounted versions (for filling the tub or the bathroom sink), but this is the ceiling-mounted version. It gets installed directly over the bathtub and then when you turn the faucet on, water flows down to fill the tub. One assumes they’ve tinkered with the design enough that the water comes down gently (so as not to splatter out of the tub and all over the bathroom floor). I’m a bit curious how adding more hot water to the tub works if you’re already inside. I’m a big reader, so I guess I’d have to find a creative way to hold my book so as not to get it drenched. If this spout peaks your interest, it can be had for about $250.
