Stainless Steel Blenders

If you like the look of stainless steel in the kitchen, there’s no need to stop at the oven and the refrigerator. Small appliances, like this Italian-designed Delonghi blender, are available in stainless steel too. The 600-watt, 1.5-liter, 5-speed blender comes with two jars (one stainless steel and one see-through) and three lids (locked, open to pour, and open to remove).

Stone Tile Patios

Think patios can only be made out of brick or concrete? Think again. Some types of stone tiles are suitable for outdoor use and can lend depth and elegance to a patio. A couple of stones that are suitable for outdoor use are travertine (“generally beige or tan in color, this stone is often used outside as cladding and pavement and inside for floors, walls and countertops”) and granite (“this hard and dense stone is ideal for inside and outside surfaces and is perfect for kitchen counters”).

Corner Sinks

Tight on counter space in your kitchen? You can free up room by incorporating a corner sink. The Solo Corner from Villeroy Boch is designed to be tucked into otherwise awkward spaces (when was the last time you found yourself facing the corner to chop veggies?). It has a large main bowl that offers enough room for filling pots and cleaning dishes, as well as a decent-sized additional bowl, a strainer basin, and an integrated worktop to the side of the main sink bowl.

Funky Home Theater Seating

More and more people are creating dedicated home theater areas when they remodel, and there’s no reason to stick to traditional couches and chairs for seating. Home Cinema Accessories has a section on their site called Alternative Home Cinema Seating, where you can find funky chairs like the Helix. It measures 33″ x 32″ x 30″ and is available in several different colors of leather or doeskin. I don’t see a drink holder any where on there, but it’s sure to be a conversation starter. The price is $945 per chair for the doeskin and $1,087 for the leather.

Whimsical Doorbells

You aren’t a bland, boring person. Why have a bland, boring doorbell? Whether you want to project an aura of majesty or whimsy, you can perk up visitors’ first impressions of your family by putting some of your personality into your doorbell. An example is this brass gecko from the Doorbell Factory, which comes on your choice of stone mounting plates. It measures 4″ x 4″ and comes with mounting adhesive that’s supposed to make it easy to install. The price is $34.
