Induction Wok Burner

Lindsay ~ 20 March 2006

I’m a wok junky, so anything to do with stir fry will get me excited. I thought the introduction of induction cooktops to the kitchen was pretty cool (no more burnt fingers, right?), but I’m really drooling over this induction wok cooktop from Kupperbush. The indentation in the ceramic surface cradles your wok to ensure even heating of your meat and veggies. Induction technology uses a magnetic field that creates resistance in iron or stainless steel pans, which makes the pan heat more quickly than with electric burners, and unlike with gas burners, you can’t burn yourself because the “heat” generated only warms metal. The price for the wok cooktop is $3,500.
