Fun Outdoor Lighting: the Solar Flower Lamp
Lindsay ~ 22 March 2006
This little flower is actually a solar-powered form of outdoor lighting put out by Solar Night Industries. You simply stick it in the ground and wait for the sun to come up. Once charged, it’s supposed to glow for up to 12 hours in the dark. I’m not sure how much it would actually light up a walkway, but it seems like a fun bit of whimsy for the backyard. If you’re not into flowers, the company also offers strings of solar-powered soccer balls, strings of American, German, and Canadian flags, and floating lights for your pond or pool. The solar flower will cost you $21.50 and several different types are available (rose, day lily, sunflower, etc.).
