The iDrive wall-mounted garage door opener from Wayne Dalton is an alternative to your usual ceiling-hung opener. You install it in your garage, just above the door. The idea is to eliminate bulky units with chains (hey, you could be storing your kayak in that valuable ceiling space). According to the company, it’s as sturdy as ceiling-mounted systems, and can accommodate garage doors up to 225 pounds.
