Reindeer Christmas Decorations with a Twist

Lindsay ~ 23 November 2005

Reindeer in yards are popular Christmas decorations. For the most part, I see those lighted ones with the moving heads. If you want something different than what the neighbor has, try these grapevine reindeer from the Gardener’s Supply Company. They’re made from twisted grapevines that make them look more natural than wire frame displays. You can choose from the “guarding” reindeer (head up, looks alert) or the “grazing” reindeer (head down, munching on your lawn) at $80 each or get both for $150.

We got a couple of the grapevine reindeer (reindeers?) last Christmas, and they really do look classy, especially compared to some of the garish displays our neighbors put on. We may get a couple more this year.

For those of you who have these already could you tell me if they do okay when they get wet? Do they got soggy and rot or can they last more than one season? We get more rain than snow and I’m not sure how well the grapevine reindeer would last.

We just ordered a couple of these grapevine reindeer. I think they look much better than the tacky plastic things our neighbor has. I can’t wait until they come so we can finish decorating our yard for Christmas!

I’d like some of the grapevine reindeer for my yard this year. Does anyone know which chains have them? I don’t really want to order them online and pay for shipping. Thx.

I want a pair of these reindeer but I can’t figure out how to order them, I don’t see a “put in my cart” option or any other way of ordering them. Someone please help! I’ve looked everywhere for these reindeer. They’re perfect!
