Reading Lamps with Oomph
Lindsay ~ 27 July 2005
When I was a kid, reading under the cover with a flashlight–or even by the light of the outside street lamp–was no problem. Now that I’m a little more, ahem, mature… I need more light to read comfortably at night. The answer might be MicroSun, producer of (according to them anyway) “the wold’s best reading lamp.” Available in table and floor versions and a variety of styles, the MicroSun lamps put out the equivalent of 375 watts of light while drawing only 68 watts of electricity. They produce a white light instead of the standard yellow, simulating “natural daylight to provide crisp, glare-free light just like the sun.” This is what makes them easier to read by. The lamps sell for a little under $200.
