The answer might be MicroSun, producer of (according to them anyway) “the wold’s best reading lamp.” Available in table and floor versions and a variety of styles, the MicroSun lamps put out the equivalent of 375 watts of light while drawing only 68 watts of electricity. They produce a white light instead of the standard yellow, simulating “natural daylight to provide crisp, glare-free light just like the sun.” This is what makes them easier to read by. The lamps sell for a little under $200.
