Dog House Air Conditioner & Heater

27 May 2005

The summer isn’t just hot for humans. If your dog lives outside, and you want to make sure she stays comfortable while you’re gone all day, you can check out Pet Cool’s dog house air conditioner (and there’s a heater for the colder months). The Pet Cool unit attachs to the dog house and runs about $500. “PET Cool adjusts automatically to maintain a constant comfortable range of temperatures in winter and summer while providing additional functionality as a de-humidifier. PETCool means peace of mind for all pet owners.”

Having air conditioning or heating for a dog is probably over the top. As much as it may be nice for them, dogs do have fur and born to withstand the cold and loose fur for the summer months. If you provide them with any kind of energy control, then they will keep the same coat all year round. Its taking away part of thier lifes cycle.

This is a great product if you have a pet, like my husky, who is miserable in the summer (95 degrees and hotter) because he was bred for cold weather. Claire didn’t think about the fact that not all dogs are bred for all climates. I also use this unit for my cocker spaniel who needs heat in the winter (below freezing). The Husky stays out and sleep right in the snow. I recommend the Petcool system, if you can find one.
